The Healthcare Foundation joined the 2^nd Charity Walk-and-Runs organized by ArcelorMittal Poland SA between October 1 and 3. 1 km = PLN 5 for treatment and rehabilitation of 12 people whose names have been submitted to OUR CHILDREN foundation.

A Nordic Walking trainings were held by instructors for groups of 20 people (on October 1, 2014 in Dąbrowa Górnicza and on October 3, 2014 in Kraków). Correct walking technique, posture, length of walking poles, proper outfit and shoes influence benefits of walking. Because two walking poles are used, all muscles are more active than during a normal walk. Oxygen intake improves by 30-50 %, which has great influence on the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Mobility of the upper spine improves, while tension in the shoulders is released. More calories burnt off than in case of a regular march means it is a great way to combat obesity.

In the Health Week the foundation made the gym at the UNIMED Rehabilitation and Wellness Center available to 15 employees of ArcelorMittal Poland. Approximately 575 people were either testedfor cancer as a part of a so-called stomach package, or as a part of a diabetes package.
